Thank you folks for visiting the Silver Horse Healing Ranch website.
SHHR is a for profit business that promotes authentic relationships between humans and horses.
SHHR provides; Healing services Reiki Classes Children's Horse Classes Family Constellation Therapy
My name is Sara Vaughan and I have been involved in the healing arts for more than a decade. I have been facilitating equine therapeutic activities since 2001.
Recently I launched Silver Horse Healing Ranch, operating from a location in Topanga Canyon in California.
I have six ( rescue) horses, four of them, Ruby, Jackie, Diva, Laydee Lucille La Don came from the Premarin Industry. My other two geldings, Silver and Hank I adopted because nobody wanted them.
My horses work with special needs clients, private one on one clients, group workshops, children and home school children.
Each horse has their own gifts and talents. They are proud horses who enjoy their work. I am blessed to be their caretaker. Horses have taught me valuable things about myself, they have taught me how important boundaries are and how to be a respected leader.
This year 2009 I am introducing my Horse Mentorship Program. This program is one on one. It is designed for those of you that want to learn about horses and the healing arts. Previous experience with horses is not necessary. For more information please go to Mentorship Program.
In regards to healing services I have a package that includes five different healing modalities that I practice. Private Horse Sessions, Astrology reading, I ching reading, Table healing session and Private Constellation Therapy. For more information go to Healing Services.
SHHR offers cutting edge alternative healing arts. If you are not getting results from what you are doing for your health and well being, make an appointment at SHHR. I am happy to work with you to help you have a fulfilling healthier life.

Here are two clips from a presentation I did at the Ranch last May. In the first one (Silver Horse Ranch Presentation May 2008) you get to meet me, Sara, and my lead mare Jackie. At this presentation I spoke about and demonstrated how to relate to horses in a connected way.
The second clip (Silver Tracking the Energy) shows a woman, Kamakshi, who has very little horse experience coming in to meet my horse Silver. This is a demonstration of the horse tracking the energy. After the initial connection with Silver, I ask Kamakshi to walk away, to see if Silver is interested in her enough to follow her. He thinks about it but decides to stay put where he is comfortable. I suggest that Kamakshi could make the statement 'I'm here!' for several reasons, one to get Silver's attention and two to state a truth. When she says it the audience laughs, Silver's attention goes to the audience and then goes to the source of where the energy is coming from and walks over to be with Kamakshi.

the herd ........
Silver, now 25 years old, lives with four mares Jackie, Ruby, Laydee Lucille La Don, Diva and Hank.
Silver has charisma, he attracts people instantly and becomes familiar right away.
Silver works with kids who want to learn about the nature of horses. He is good at delivering messages. I teach children how to be open to communicating with Silver. His small size and Unicorn looks make him appealing to children of all ages. Not bad considering he is not a riding horse. As I tell the kids, 'Silver had a bad experience with humans, I'm sure you know someone who had a bad experience with a horse.'
Silver and I have spent time developing his real talents, in doing so his issues with safety and security have faded.
I noticed hoe empathic Silver is when he worked with a client who was facing a huge health crisis.
Uncertain and terrified of the future the client hid her feelings behind a smiling face. Silver picked up on her inner fears concerning survival, he panicked and tried to escape the area.
The less fear Silver holds about his survival ( he narrowly missed slaughter) the more he is available to help others heal.
Silvers previous life as a stallion to his life now as a therapy and educational horse he is fortunate to have found his true calling in life, and I am fortunate to be part of that with him.

Ruby is an ex premarin mare. I bought her from a family that had adopted her from the United Pegasus Foundation, a horse rescue in Tehachapi, California.
I have had Ruby four years.
She is about eight years old and had one foal as a PMU.
Ruby has come along way. She is probably the horse that challenged me the most. I had to go deep inside and work on cultivating patience.
Ruby is highly sensitive, she is a ten out of ten when it comes to responsiveness.
It has taken four years to reach where we are now, the pay off!
Ruby is fun to ride, she is a rocket and takes off at a gallop.
We ride with a bareback pad and a soft halter. Ruby loves people and gravitates towards anyone we meet on the trail. She loves to be admired for her beautiful face and velvety soft red coat. . Ruby has taught me not to give up when things become difficult. She has shown me the sweetest rewards come when I move through challenges.

| Jackie |

|
Jackie is an ex PMU, she went through two horse rescue sites, I adopted her from theanimalifarm.com.
Her feet had been neglected and she was severley lame. I saw Jackie on the animali farms website. It was the look in her eye that got my attention. I picked Jackie out of hundreds of horses. She is half Belgium, half Apaloosa and about fourteen years old.
I have been trimming Jackies feet since she came here four years ago. She is wonderfully sound and goes with me on amazing trail rides through the Santa Monica mountains.
She is incredibly 'cool' and psychic. Jackie is the alpha mare in the herd. She has never bitten or hurt any of the other horses, she is proud and leads the others with her stoic energy.
Jackie works with a client once a week who has autism and is partially blind. Jackie's comfortable long stride creates the feeling of being rocked and held. Jackie embodies qualities that I aspire to cultivate, confidence, self assertiveness, sensitivity and generosity in a tough exterior.

Diva is a PMU foal that I adopted two years ago from the animali farm in Santa Maria California.
She came here the same time as Jackie and they have been close friends ever since.
Diva is a mix of Percheron and another kind of draft. At four years old she stands close to eighteen hands. Diva is very sweet and loving.
She spends most of her time with Laydee Lucille La Don. Diva is the only horse in the herd that doesn't terrorize Laydee. The two of them together is an impressive sight.
I am riding Diva in the mountains, she rides with a rope halter (none of my horses have had a bit in their mouths).
I am looking forward to seeing Diva's growth in the next couple of years as her body thickens up. She has good ground manners and is light on the rope.

| Magnificent Laydee Lucille La Don |
|
|
Laydee Lucille La Don is an impressive eighteen year old Percheron, an ex PMU from Canada.
Laydee Lucille came to Topanga in March of 2007. I first saw her in an email from a horse rescue site, I made my mind up that day to adopt her.
Laydee Lucille is the sweetest most gentle horse I have ever met. Laydee works with special needs kids at the ranch.
Considering Laydee has been a premarin mare the majority of her life (she became infertile at fifteen years of age) she is extremely loving and forgiving. She reminds me of the Dali Lama, because of her non violent disposition.
Laydee has inspired me to paint and write about horses.

Handsome Hank..
I adopted Hank from El Dustberry when they moved location at the end of 2007.
I had been the care taker for Hank for about five years so I knew him pretty well. El Dustberry needed ridable horses and Hank had been chronically lame since and before his arrival.
Hank came from a school that taught jumping. He had navicular and could barely walk. He was extremely uncomfortable in his body.
I knew that all Hank needed was a chance to show his talent.
At the time I adopted him I already had five horses and was starting my own business. It wasn't like I needed another horse but I just couldn't let Hank slip away.
It is just over a year and Hank is sound. Meaning he is ridable and no longer has problems in his feet. He is an exceptional horse when it comes to doing therapeutic work with clients.
He is large and elegant. He is gentle and strong. He makes you feel special when your with him.
Hank loves the mares, Jackie and Ruby.
Jackie is his girlfriend, they hang out together all the time.
Words cannot express the joy I feel when I see him now knowing how he was in the past.
His transformation is truly a miracle and gives me faith that anything is possible in life.
