Family Constellation is a therapeutic approach introduced to the public by Bert Hellinger, who passed away in 2019. Hellinger was a pioneer in demonstrating an alternative way of addressing problems by focusing on the family system rather than the individual. He recognized that transgenerational trauma can continue to affect descendants until the core issue is resolved.
Even if the trauma originated with ancestors who have passed away, these family members can be represented using people, inanimate objects, animals, or designated spaces. The trauma can then be addressed directly, thereby relieving descendants of its burden.
Sara practices Family Constellation with her herd, whose movements and actions provide insight and support in identifying which members of a person's family system need to be seen and honored.
Sara teaches Learn the Foundations of Family Constellation in an eight-month online course. Once learned, this approach can be adapted for use with Horse and Table Top Constellations.
A Learn the Foundations of Family Constellation video course and ebook are currently available.
